Windows 8.1 or earlier - Windows Update Agent

Malware often exploits vulnerabilities within outdated applications to infect a system. Always keep your system up-to-date to prevent exploits and reduce the risk of infection.

Please follow the below steps to configure Windows Update Agent on your device

Step 1: Turn on Windows Updates

  • Go to Windows Update settings (click Start, type "Windows Update", select "Windows Update", then select "Change Settings" on the left navigation).

  • Change how often you want to install important updates to "Install updates automatically (recommended) and select an update schedule.

Step 2: Install all missing patches on your device

  • Go to Windows Update (click Start, type "Windows Update", select "Windows Update settings")

  • Click on "Check for updates"

  • Click on "Install Updates" to install all missing patches.

  • Restart your machine if requested

Step 3: Re-scan your device's compliance

  • Right click the "OPSWAT Client" tray icon, click "Recheck" to enforce the agent scan device compliance data and report to the MetaAccess servers again. Note that if you are running an old agent version, you should click "Check applications security" and "Check for OS updates"
