Update configuration on Windows Update Agent

Malware often exploits vulnerabilities within outdated applications to infect a system. Always keep your system up-to-date to prevent exploits and reduce the risk of infection.

Please follow the below steps to configure Windows Update Agent on your device

Step 1: Turn on Windows Updates if you are using Windows 8.1 or ealier

  • Go to Windows Update settings (click Start, type "Windows Update", select "Windows Update", then select "Change Settings" on the left navigation).

  • Change how often you want to install important updates to "Install updates automatically (recommended) and select an update schedule.

Step 2: Install all missing patches on your device

  • Go to Windows Update (click Start, type "Windows Update", select "Windows Update setting")

  • Click on "Check for updates"

  • Click "Install Updates" to install all missing patches. On Windows 10, it’s automatically downloaded and installed when an update is available.

  • Restart your machine if requested

Step 3: Re-scan missing patches on your devices

  • Right-click on MetaAccess tray icon (if it's hidden, go to Start and search for OPSWAT MetaAccess and run it)

  • Click on Rescan Missing Patches
