How do I know what version of OPSWAT Client is installed on a device?

From the MetaAccess console:

The easiest way to find this information is to use MetaAccess console. Log into MetaAccess console and go to Inventory > Devices:

  1. Search the device using its hostname/username/group name/….

  2. The version of the agent installed on the device is shown on Agent Version column.

  3. Agent version is also shown on the System Information box when we view device details. In this view, you are also able to check which SDK version the agent is running

Unless automatic updates are disabled, the persistent OPSWAT Client will update automatically as new versions are released. If the device is offline for an extended period, the version will update the next time the device is online. An on-demand OPSWAT Client does not automatically update regardless of the account preference for automatic updates.

From a device:

The instructions for finding the version information from OPSWAT Client depends on the type of client, operating system, and UI setting.

Windows/macOS Persistent agent with Tray Icon Enabled:

Windows/macOS On-demand agent

  1. Open Start menu, search for OPSWAT Client

  2. Click on OPSWAT Client

  3. Right-click the agent tray icon.

  4. Select 'About'.

Information is listed on the About dialog: the agent version, SDK Version (OESIS Framework version), hostname, username, OS information, IP address, MAC address, which server the agent talking to, which account the device is associated to, the last time the agent communicates to the MetaAccess cloud.

Windows Persistent, Tray Icon Disabled:

  • OPSWAT Client Version: check in registry at location

    • For Win 32bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OPSWAT\Gears Client\Config, key "MSIPackageVersion"

    • For Win 64bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\OPSWAT\Gears Client\Config, key "MSIPackageVersion"

  • SDK version (OESIS Framework version):

    • For Win 32bit: Go to folder C:\Program Files\OPSWAT\OnDemand\ondemands\oesis, check the product version/file version of any dll file

    • For Win 64bit: Go to folder C:\Program Files (x86)\OPSWAT\OnDemand\ondemands\oesis, check the product version/file version of any dll file.

OSX Persistent, Tray Icon Disabled:

  • OPSWAT Client Version:

    • Go to /Application/OPSWAT GEARS Client

    • Click on OPSWAT Gears, you can see the version on the application info

Linux V4 Agent

Check version by command:

  1. run command: opswat-client -i

  2. We can see the version on the output of this command

Check version by file name:

  1. Go to /usr/bin/opswatclient/bin

  2. Check the product version was included on the file name: (Eg: file name: daxz-15.5.4.0 => product version: 15.5.4.0)

iOS/Android Mobile App

  1. Open the app

  2. Click on the menu icon on the top right

  3. Select About
