3.1.2 Device Policies

OPSWAT Central Management provides the option to assign device groups under a management policy, which defines how OPSWAT Central Management should manage all devices in said group.

The users can create a new policy via the Create New Policy button and modify an existing policy by clicking on its corresponding entry. The users can also delete or clone any existing policy via the drop-down menu from the corresponding gear icon.

Create new policy

The users can create new policies customized for specific device groups in the Policies management page.

  1. Click on Create New Policy.

  2. Fill out the required basic information for the new policy. Click on Define Device Actions when ready.

    • Name: The new policy's name

    • Description: The new policy's description

  3. The Define Device Actions page allows users to customize the device's security behaviors. Click on Define Device Issues when ready.

  4. The Define Device Issues page specifies when a device should report a security issue for consideration. Click on Define Device Status when ready.

  5. The Define Device Status page specifies the criteria to judge whether a device is compliant or non-compliant based on the security issues reported.
    Click on Create to finalize the new policy's creation, which will be displayed in the Policies management page.
